SaaS Customer Onboarding Course

Getting Started with TaskFlow: New Customer Onboarding

Project Summary

Business Problem

Target Audience

TaskFlow is a fictional SaaS platform that helps implementation teams organize client onboarding work, assign responsibilities, manage deadlines, and monitor progress in one shared workspace. This portfolio project demonstrates how I designed an end-to-end implementation course that follows Brightside Consulting from kickoff through launch readiness.

Learners practice structuring a client workspace, translating requirements into actionable work, establishing accountability and timing, aligning contributors, responding to project risks, and evaluating whether the implementation is ready to launch.

Implementation teams often receive incomplete or conflicting information during the handoff from sales. Without a consistent process, assumptions may become commitments, tasks may lack clear outcomes, ownership may remain uncertain, and risks may not be addressed until they affect the launch. This course was designed to help implementation specialists create a clear, coordinated, and launch-ready client workspace.

This course is designed for SaaS implementation specialists, customer success managers, account managers, and project coordinators responsible for organizing client onboarding work. Learners may already be comfortable using project-management software but need a consistent method for turning client requirements into an accountable implementation plan.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to create and manage a launch-ready client onboarding workspace that organizes requirements, establishes accountability, makes risks visible, and supports informed launch decisions.

After completing this course, learners will be able to:

• Structure a client onboarding workspace around implementation phases and milestones.
• Convert kickoff information and business requirements into actionable work.
• Assign appropriate owners and establish realistic deadlines.
• Monitor progress and select an appropriate response to implementation risks.
• Evaluate the workspace and implementation team for launch readiness.

I designed a scenario-based, task-centered course that follows a realistic client implementation from kickoff through launch. Learners interpret conflicting information, build the workspace foundation, create an action plan, assign ownership and deadlines, align contributors, respond to risks, and evaluate launch readiness. Interactive activities, knowledge checks, decision-making scenarios, and a downloadable job aid reinforce the process.

This project includes:

• An interactive Rise 360 implementation course
• A comprehensive client-approval storyboard
• A downloadable Client Workspace Launch Guide
• Scenario-based decision activities
• Knowledge checks, sorting activities, and interactive cards

The course is organized around Brightside Consulting’s implementation journey rather than a general software tour. Each lesson builds on the previous stage of the project, moving from clarification and workspace setup to actionable planning, accountability, risk response, and launch evaluation. The interactions require learners to interpret information and make realistic implementation decisions.

This training solution is designed to support more consistent implementation planning, reduce avoidable rework, strengthen accountability, improve early visibility of project risks, and help teams make evidence-based launch decisions.

For this project, I served as the instructional designer and eLearning developer. I created the learning strategy, course structure, objectives, instructional content, scenarios, interactions, knowledge checks, client-approval storyboard, and downloadable performance-support job aid.
